Manufacturing Process

1. Design
We meet with the customer to decide what kind of fishing rod or pipe will be made, then create a design blueprint.

Prepreg (material) preserved in refrigerator/freezer.
2. Pattern Cutting
Cut to the design blueprint by hand or by using a cutting machine.

Cut to the design blueprint by hand.

Cut to angle (bonded together, increasing torsion).

3. Release Agent Applied to Mandrel
The decored mandrel (metal mold) is coated with a release agent.
4. Adhesive Applied to Mandrel
Already coated with a release agent, an adhesive is then applied to the mandrel (metal mold).
5. Adding Iron
The mandrel, which is already coated with an adhesive, is heated and pressurized, and a cutting pattern and sub-pattern is then applied.
6. Rolling
The iron-coated pattern is set onto the rolling table, where it is then rotated at high pressure.

Glass is wrapped on the back. In front, carbon cloth is then wrapped around the exterior.
7. Taping
PP (polypropylene) tape is layered over the pattern-wrapped mandrel, and pressure is applied.

Appearance of wrapped tape.
8. Firing
The tape-wrapped item is hung in the kiln. Heat is applied, hardening the resin.
9. Decoring
Hardened pipe is removed from the mandrel.

Separated mandrel and pipe.
10. Tape Stripping
Removing wrapped tape.

Appearance of stripped tape.
11. Cutting
Pipe can be cut at both ends.
12. Polishing
The pipe is put into the grinding/polishing machine and rotated. The surface is polished with a rotating buffing material.
13. Centerless Alignment
The centerless grinding machine (outside diameter grinding machine depending on the grindstone) grinds the material (pipe diameter and rod joint parts, etc.) down to the necessary precise dimensions.

Our centerless grind processing supports diameters up to Φ150 mm
14. Painting
Painting to the specified color.

The coat is typically applied by brush, but other types of coating methods (such as sprayers) are used occasionally as well.

Painted pipe.
15. Screen Printing
Logo mark placed on pipe and rod.

Logo mark printed.
16. Assembly & Completion
Assembly of parts required for rod blanks completed.
